Special present: painting potholders and oven mitts

Oven mitt and Pot holders

A special present can be simple, colourful and handy. With just a little help, children can decorate their own potholders and overn mitts. A practical gift that will bring a smile to your face.

You need:

  • Marabu Textile markers
  • Oven mitts and/or pot holder
  • Iron

Pot holder

1) Draw stars on a pot holder using templates cut from paper or felt. To do this, place the stars on the fabric and trace their outlines using a textile marker.

2) First trace all the outlines, then colour in the stars.

3) Unique designs are created by letting children’s imaginations run wild. Here concretely, a cute dwarf emerges.

Oven glove

1) Create the oven glove by painting at first the bee bodies with the yellow textile marker. Let the paint dry thoroughly.

2) When the paint is no longer wet, you can draw black stripes, the face and the heart-shaped wings on the bees by means of the black textile marker.

3) Decorate further the glove with flowers, dots and other ideas that come to mind.

Tip: After fixing (iron or oven 150°C/8 min) the textile marker is light-fast, washable up to 40°C and soft to the touch.
